We were in Mangalore with Eddie’s parents as the quarter began. The kids were having a great time playing. Their schooling was minimal as they did not have much energy to concentrate while much play invited them. Eddie had to keep up with his Greek learning. In those early weeks, it took a lot from him to figure out what he had to learn and how to go about it.
Allie turned 10!
We are so grateful to God for Allie! She turned 10 this October. She had a blast of a day with a whole day spread with events, surprises, food, gifts, prayers and words of affirmation.
Two days later we headed back home to Mysore and get back to routine.
After we completed our quarantine, we were able to join some of the church members for chapel service. We do miss that we still do cannot have full fledged services, but we are grateful to God to be able to meet with other saints and worship.
October ended with Reformation day. The girls enjoyed dressing up as reformation women, learning a bit about the reformation and delivering their speeches.
November
November brought a few new routines into 2020 – chapel services, gathering with church members for lunch and prayer on Sunday afternoons. The kids got to hangout with other kids from church and play. Art projects at home continued. The stadium finally opened for public use and the kids are glad to be able to go back. Mia began to use her sister’s scooter. Christmas projects underway. It was a busy month. Eddie started going back to the church hall to work and spend time with his interns, and learn Greek.
December
This December we read through The Christmas We Didn’t Expect by David Mathis for Advent devotions. What a blessing. We recommend this book wholeheartedly to you.
The advent season brought a break in the schooling routine to spend time in making goodies. The kids had a blast. This is Lauren’s third year making christmas goodies. The kids enjoyed packing and distributing them.
Eddie finished one semester of Greek in early December. Yay! The next week was spent in fixing our roof. We live in an old building and have to fix our roof every few years to prevent water seepage. Thankfully the interns volunteered to help. They did a lot of the hard work and the men completed the job in three days.
We completed 13 years of marriage. We are grateful to God for keeping us, enabling us to serve him, to raise a family together, and so much more. Here are some more pictures of how we ended the year. Food, art projects, Christmas, Anniversary, NYE…
2021 – looking ahead
2021 for us will probably be a new beginning if we do go to seminary. Eddie has successfully completed one semester of the two semester Greek pre-requisite courses. Once done, the admission will be finalized for which he is already approved. After that will begin the visa process. Once we are good to go, then we have to work on housing and other logistics. None of which is certain at the moment. But we trust God’s plans and accept any outcome.
We are thankful to God for the finances for the visa application and tickets to US. We have now reached 60% of our estimated requirements. Praise God! There are still six months and we trust that God will provide us with the means to travel when we have to.
