Recently I watched the movie about a perseverant horse SeaBiscuit and its equally perseverant rider Red. The horse when it was identified was a loser and a rebel of the first order. It took an equally perseverant rider to know his horse and to train his horse and not compare it with the others. The rider spent all his time learning and understanding his horse and his horse alone. He knew its strength and weaknesses. He knew when to push his horse and when to let the horse be. It takes patience and time. The result was that SeaBiscuit was a champion horse.
I am a mother of a three year old am worried about her character her personality and her future. The tantrums seem to be endless and I was loosing hope. I was giving up. Now I know that I need to learn my daughter. Closely watch her. Hear those unsaid words. Feel those unsaid hurts and emotions and train her to be the vessel that God wants her to be. I need grace for this. I need patience and I need to be more like Christ.
Father, help me to be the trainer that brings out the best in my baby. Help me to pattern Christ in her life. Help me to be an example of perseverance and love. Help me to make her the champion you want her to be.
